“Miss Diane” Wardenburg began her dance career with the Lathrop School of Dance at the age of 4 and became a “4 Star Baby” at the age of 6. She has been featured in many specialty dances over the years including a dynamic tap number to “Sweet Georgia Brown”.
It was obvious to founders Mack & Ginny Lathrop that Diane had passion, talent, and a real love for dance. During her college years she worked as their assistant. After Mack’s passing, Ginny continued to mentor her and, in her words, Diane became her “right arm” The school continued through the years with Mrs. Lathrop and Miss Diane growing the school and together producing our annual Stardust Revue.
Ginny passed away in November of 2009, and Diane began her new role as Owner and Director. She continues the legacy handed to her, guiding the school in tradition, style and enthusiasm in a loving family atmosphere. All of this, wrapped up with wonderful assistants, students and families, makes LSOD the special place it is.
