Updated March 16, 2020: The following are Important Changes from Elmwood Hall- Danbury Senior Center: The Danbury Senior Center will close today Monday March 16th at noon and will remain closed until further notice.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Sites Service Suspended Until Further Notice
As coronavirus (COVID-19) developments change hour by hour, AARP Foundation is doing its part to flatten the curve of transmission. A top priority for us is ensuring we are protecting those most at risk, including our volunteers and taxpayers. Therefore, we are suspending AARP Foundation Tax-Aide services beginning March 16 until further notice.
The Breakfast Program is now canceled until further notice.
The Senior Nutrition Lunch Program is now canceled until further notice.
Meals on Wheels
If you are a homebound senior and want Meals on Wheels call Western CT Area Agency on Aging at 800-994-9422 or 203-757-5449. They are arranging for a 2 week supply of meals to be delivered to homebound seniors
Grab and Go meals – The Department of Elderly Services – Elmwood Hall – Danbury Senior Center is in the process of working with the State of CT – Western CT Area Agency on Aging to develop Grab and Go meals for seniors who are registered at the Danbury Senior Center Congregate site. We will have more details on a start date and how to obtain these meals shortly.
WOODBURY CT SENIOR CENTER UPDATES:
Out of an abundance of caution, Woodbury senior center programs and activities are temporarily suspended. Transportation and home delivered meals continue. The office is open for questions, assistance and links to resources. Call us at (203) 263-2828.
Stop and Shop will open early just for seniors beginning Thursday March 19.
BROOKFIELD CT SENIOR CENTER UPDATES:
Brookfield Senior Center is closed for all programs and activities at this time. We will be rescheduling AARP Income Tax Prep appointments, once we have new dates. Please take care of yourselves during this unprecedented time. Stay home, call some friends and keep washing your hands!

Newtown Senior Center has suspended all classes, programs and tours until further notice.
Newtown Senior Center Closure Update
With the health concerns regarding COVID-19 changing rapidly, your health and safety is our number one priority. After meeting with town officials and leaders this morning, we have made the decision to close the Newtown Senior Center until further notice.

NEW MILFORD CT SENIOR CENTER UPDATES:
Due to the growing concern of COVID-19, the decision has been made for the New Milford Senior Center to suspend all programs and activities starting Monday, March 16th until further notice with exception of assistance from our Senior Service Advisors, Meals on Wheels, and Transportation in a limited capacity.
For questions or more information, please call the New Milford Senior Center at 860-355-6075 as staff will be available for remote assistance.
Limited to rides for employment, grocery and food bank, pharmacy, non-emergency medical appointments or therapies
MEALS ON WHEELS
Registered recipients will continue to receive their meal deliveries
Suspended on site, with the exception of those eligible to receive meals delivered to their place of residence
