CITY OF DANBURY CT SENIOR CENTER
Elmwood Hall – Danbury Senior Center has been closed since March 17, 2020, but staff at the center are available by phone. If you leave a message, please understand our response time for a call back might be slower than normal due to limited staffing. Please call 203-797-4686 for inquiries. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Sites Service Suspended Until Further Notice
The Breakfast Program is now canceled until further notice.
The Senior Nutrition Lunch Program is now canceled until further notice.
Meals on Wheels: If you are a homebound senior and want Meals on Wheels, please call the Western CT Area Agency on Aging at 800-994-9422 or 203-757-5449. They are arranging for a 2 week supply of meals to be delivered to homebound seniors.
Hillside Food Outreach is prepared to make home deliveries to quarantined people in the Danbury area. You may contact them at 203-702-4881 or visit their website for ways to help.

NEW FAIRFIELD SENIOR CENTER
New Fairfield Senior Center is offering members the opportunity to connect by phone with other members for an occasional chat while this is going on. You can do so by calling 203 312-5665 and giving us permission to give your phone number to another senior and vice versa.
Grab n Go meals are now available! The meals are for those 60 and over for a suggested donation of $3.00/meal (optional). There will be 4 meals provided per week. Curbside pickups are Monday between 11:30 and 12:00 for Monday and Tuesday lunches and Wednesday between 11:30 and 12:00 for Wednesday and Thursday lunches. You do not have to leave your car for pickup. The meals are in a chilled container that can be heated in the microwave or a conventional oven (no toaster ovens). If you’d like to be included, reservations must be made by Wednesday morning for the next week’s meals by calling 203 312-5665 between 9:00 and 3:00pm.

Neighbor to Neighbor Volunteer shopping and delivery service for Woodbury residents Now featuring Labonnes and New Morning! How it works: Volunteers will help you get your groceries from Labonne’s or New Morning stores. The stores are overwhelmed with requests, and we hope to reduce the burden on the stores AND get you your groceries sooner. This is a free service for those who must stay home during the COVID-19 outbreak. You pay the store directly, and groceries are delivered to your front door. Healthy volunteers also sought to help. Woodbury Senior Center has sourced a few masks from generous volunteers. They are prioritizing these cloth masks for those who must go out, and for those frail elders who have caregivers going in and out of the home. If you have a need, please call the Senior Center. Brookfield Senior Center is closed for all programs and activities at this time. We will be rescheduling AARP Income Tax Prep appointments, once we have new dates. Please take care of yourselves during this unprecedented time. Stay home, call some friends and keep washing your hands!

NEWTOWN CT SENIOR CENTER
Newtown Senior Center has suspended all classes, programs and tours until further notice.
March 16, 2020: Newtown Senior Center Closure Update. With the health concerns regarding COVID-19 changing rapidly, your health and safety is our number one priority. After meeting with town officials and leaders this morning, we have made the decision to close the Newtown Senior Center until further notice. If you or anyone you know is in need during this difficult time, please contact the Department of Human Services. The Human Services staff will be available by phone at (203) 270-4310 or (203) 270-4300, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
If you or someone you know needs to have groceries or other necessities delivered to your home, please call Bev, Director of our Chore Services at (203) 430-0633. Ben’s Lighthouse would also like to offer their help in assisting the seniors in our Newtown community with their needs during COVID-19 isolation. If you know of someone who would like help, call them at (203) 770-7713.
Physician One at 266 South Main Street in Newtown is offering a virtual visit for a fee of $50. Call (203) 270-9000 if you would like to speak to a medical professional, or check their website.
The Senior Center meal site provider, CW Resources, will be beginning to provide prepackaged lunches for seniors beginning Tuesday, March 24th. Meals will be provided in containers that can be heated in your home microwaves. Meals will be offered Monday through Friday. Please contact the Senior Center to request a meal 3 days in advance. Meals will be available at 12 pm for curbside pick-up. Please let staff know if you do not have means of transportation. Meals are provided for a suggested donation of $3.00. If you are not registered for the congregate meal program at the Center you can complete the registration form required by CW, at the same time you pick-up your meal. We are thrilled to be able to continue to provide meals to our members in partnership with CW Resources. We hope to see many of you at pick-up.
If you have a dog or cat or know a senior who does and needs help getting food for their pet, Jenny Hubbard has dog and cat food for pets of seniors thru the Catherine Violet Hubbard animal sanctuary foundation. NEW MILFORD CT SENIOR CENTER
Due to the growing concern of COVID-19, the decision has been made for the New Milford Senior Center to suspend all programs and activities starting Monday, March 16th until further notice with exception of assistance from our Senior Service Advisors, Meals on Wheels, and Transportation in a limited capacity.
