VirtualVITA Tax Assistance
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, many of Connecticut’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites must close. To maintain our services in light of these closings, United Way of Greater Waterbury, Connecticut Association for Human Services and the Internal Revenue Service have partnered together to bring Virtual VITA to our community, offering free virtual tax preparation for households earning $56,000 or less that still need to file. The tax filing deadline is also now extended until July 15th (with no interest or penalties). In order to participate you will need a smart phone or computer and Wi-Fi access. Fill out the application here, upload tax documents and select an appointment time and a VITA Volunteer will be in touch with you to complete your return. For more information go to the Virtual Vita website here.
