Local farms across Connecticut offer pick-your-own experiences, a variety of goods at their farm stands, and agritourism opportunities for visitors. Lyman Orchards is one of Connecticut’s most popular farms, offering nearly 100 varieties of fruit and vegetables from June through October. You can visit the farm this fall to pick your own apples, pears, and pumpkins! The Apple Barrel Store is also open year round with fresh pies, apple cider donuts, muffins, pastries, breads, and more. And while you’re there, be sure to take a stroll through their Corn Maze, open through November 7th this season. Enjoy!

BLUE JAY ORCHARDS
125 Plumtrees Road, Bethel, CT
Blue Jay Orchards offers a farm market, bakery, pick-your-own apples, and a pumpkin patch for visitors during the fall. The farm is open seven days a wee and is currently offering Macoun, Cortland, Gala Empire, and Fugi apples for picking. Their market offers freshly picked apples, apple cider and their famous apple cider donuts, local honey and maple syrup, and more. The pumpkin patch is now open for visitors of all ages to stroll through and pick their own pumpkins!

Silverman’s Farm always has sweet treats and fresh produce to enjoy with friends and family! The Country market is full of everything from fruit and vegetables to breads, cheeses, and fresh-baked goods. They are also known for their animal farm, bringing joy to visitors as the pet and interact with llamas, alpacas, sheep, and other farm animals. The market, animal farm, and pick-you-own apples are open 7 days a week, 9 am to 5 pm.

ELLSWORTH HILL ORCHARD AND BERRY FARM
461 Cornwall Bridge Rd. Rte. 4, Sharon CT
Ellsworth Hill Orchard and Berry Farm offers a pick-your-own experience as well as already picked fruits and vegetables. Apples are now available for picking this season! When visiting the farm, you can also purchase fresh baked goods and enjoy a nice cold glass of cider. Ellsworth Hill Orchard and Berry Farm also offers a corn maze, and this year’s theme is The History of the New York Yankees Baseball Team. The farm is open six days a week (closed on Tuesdays). Averill Farm is a tenth generation family farm known for their varieties of apples and pears available for picking along with their famous apple cider donuts! Visit Averill Farm, set on a gorgeous hilltop overlooking the beautiful Litchfield Hills, to enjoy offerings from their farm stand including seasonal fruit and vegetables, pumpkins, mums, maple syrup and honey, baked goods, and more. The farm is open daily from August 15th to December 24th.

Jones Family Farms offers one of the finest pick-your-own experiences in Connecticut and the Jones family invite you to visit the 400-acre farm. They are open seven days a week and offer online reservations to ensure a quality experience while you pick your pumpkins and apples, enjoy the corn maze and pumpkin path, take a ride on the farm hayride, or choose your goods from the grab-and-go tent.
