Silver Sands State Park

Gillette Castle State Park
This 184 acre park is nestled on a hill that looks over the Connecticut River. William Gillette, best known for his betrayal of Sherlock Holmes on stage, designed his house with unique carved locks and doors. Once you step inside the stone castle, you will see built-in couches, table trackway, and wood carvings. Enjoy hiking, picnicking, and beautiful views at Gillette Castle State Park. Learn more

Hammonasset Beach State Park

Wadsworth Falls State Park
A scholar and linguist, Clarence C. Wadsworth worked to preserve the beauty of Wadsworth Falls for over forty years. After he passed in 1942, the land was given to the State of Connecticut, creating what is now known as Wadsworth Falls State Park. Providing a wide variety of recreational activities including a beautiful waterfall, visitors have much to enjoy. Learn more

Harkness Memorial State Park

Fort Trumbull State Park
Fort Trumbull State Park was an important location during colonial times, containing various military forts, schools and research facilities for the United States Army, Coast Guard and Navy.
