We are excited to announce the Age Well Community Fund!
The Age Well Community Fund for Danbury is an initiative of the Age Well Community Council and developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond to support access to food and other services that promote engagement and connectivity with and by older people and those disproportionately impacted by the virus.
The Emergency Food Program was made possible during the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the Age Well Community Council and partners including Connecticut Community Care, United Way of Western Connecticut, Hillside Food Outreach, Jericho Partnership, Elmwood Hall Senior Center. Take a look at the success of the Emergency Food Program in a recent article.
The Age Well Community Council is dedicated to creating a community where people can age in ways that are relevant, healthy, meaningful and engaged. The AWCC will be continuing its work in supporting those affected by COVID-19 but with your help it will be possible to reach more individuals in need.
Your donation will help to:
- Provide nutritious meals for those who need them most
- Assist with grocery delivery to keep vulnerable people safely at home
- Provide support services to help older people who are isolated because of the pandemic
A donation to the Age Well Community Fund for Danbury makes a real difference here in Western Connecticut, providing healthy aging support to individuals and families who need it most. If you’d like to support the Age Well Community Fund, go to: https://agewellct.org/donate

“I just received two shopping bags of food and it was like Christmas! I just can’t believe how very, very kind and generous this is. Being 89 and I can’t get out I was down to eating toast and butter. So, I want to thank you very much, it was really so much and so wonderful that I still can’t believe it.”
“Thank you so much for the meal last Thursday. I thought it would just be one lunch, but it lasted through the weekend… I am so gratefully stuffed and full and satisfied and happy, thank you so much for your generosity and your hard work. Bless you all.”
“I would to thank you very very much for dropping off the meals today. The food was delicious!”
