Who doesn’t love the feeling of walking into a library? A sense of wonder and exploration for all ages, yet also an oasis of peace and calm.
And although we all have come to appreciate technology, there is nothing like the feel of a book in one’s hands!
“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.” – Jorge Luis Borges
Our local libraries provide so much more than books alone. They are a valuable resource at the heart of each community. They offer programs, events, entertainment and a sense of belonging. Some of the many programs offered by our area libraries include:
- Book discussion groups
- Special lectures
- Meet the Author events
- Music and theatrical performances
- Art shows
- Ancestry and genealogy research
- Computer classes
- Holiday events
- Volunteering opportunities
And, if you are unable to visit the library in person, there are many online programs that you can enjoy, such as downloading digital books and learning tools. We encourage you to get involved at your local library!
