Earlier today, the Age Well Community Council of Danbury in partnership with the United Way of Western Connecticut presented a summit focusing on older adults and food security. They gathered together residents and leaders from Danbury area businesses, libraries, faith groups, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, physician groups, community groups, and senior centers to discuss ways to increase awareness, access, and advocacy for this important issue.
In addition to a keynote address by Jaime S. Foster, PhD, RD from the Connecticut Food Bank, the summit featured a video that shared stories from local Danbury seniors and their struggles with food security. For those who were unable to attend the summit, we invite you to view the video below.
