A recent article by AARP took a look at how today’s times of social distancing compare to the rationing and other lifestyle challenges that Americans endured during World War II. Times during the war were certainly difficult, with Americans being given “ration books” that provided points with which individuals could purchase food and supplies. As a nation, Americans were asked to make incredible sacrifices for the common good and this part of our nation’s history should not be forgotten.
