How do you feel about where you live?
Our local towns need to hear about what it’s like to live in your community while aging, with dementia, with a disability, or while acting as a care partner with someone who is. That is why the Connecticut Age Well Collaborative is launching the Community Leaders Fellowship, a paid opportunity for Connecticut community members who are aging, living with dementia, living with a disability, or acting as a care partner to someone who is.
In a process of shared learning, trust-building and empowerment, participants will help guide and shape the work of the Collaborative and pilot a model for municipal community engagement that emphasizes valuing lived experience, especially from historically disempowered populations. A subset of Fellows will be selected to join the Collaborative’s Steering Committee longer-term.
As part of the Community Leaders Fellowship you will:
- Learn leadership skills and shape policy about making more livable places.
- Share stories about what works well now and what feels hard.
- Participate in three, 90-minute online conversations in March, April, and May 2023.
- Get paid $100 for participating in all three conversations!
- Receive meals during meeting times (via DoorDash gift cards).
Applications are due Wednesday, March 1, 2023 by 5:00pm.
