Summit II
Older Adults and Food Security
A community-wide Summit to learn, plan, and promote collective action to ensure every older adult in Danbury has access to nutritious food.
Thursday, June 6th 2019
Ethan Allen Hotel, Danbury CT
8:30 am to 12:30 pm
1 out of 14 older adults in CT is food insecure – and that number is likely to rise.
Food security refers to the availability of food and one’s access to it. Food security exists when people at all times have physical and economic access to adequate amounts of nutritious, safe, and culturally appropriate food to maintain a healthy and active life.
Hear from experts, learn from older adults, and participate in a dynamic change movement to increase awareness, access and advocacy.
