It’s National Hobby Month, which means it’s the perfect time to devote yourself to your favorite pastime or start a new one! Luckily, we have some great events coming up in Connecticut during the winter months. So if you are looking to do something new, expand your mind, try a new program, or just get involved – now is your chance!

Wellness Tips for the New Year Workshop

It’s time to get involved in the community for a good cause! Join us for a walk fundraiser to benefit the Community Fuel Bank of New Milford this Sunday, January 12th. The Community Fuel Bank helps out those in our community who are in need and unable to heat their homes. When you participate in this walk, you and your team join the movement to help heat the homes of your neighbor who is less fortunate. (If you are unable to attend the walk but would like to make a donation, checks can be made payable to the Community Fuel Bank and mailed to 40 Main St, New Milford, CT 06776). Relaxation Station: Reiki

Are you looking for new ways to relax and unwind? Look no further! The New Milford Senior Center offers Reiki healing sessions. Reiki is used to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and restore physical, mental, and emotional health through simple hands-on healing techniques. Try a healing session with Reiki Master, Mary-Ellen Foster, every second and fourth Tuesday of the month! A 10-minute Relaxation Station session is a suggested donation of $7.00 and clients are received on a first come, first served basis. Click here for additional event information.

Census Partnership Specialist Yvette Rose will explain how the 2020 Census is safe, easy, and important. She will provide details about how a lack of participation may affect local programs and community centers. TOURS WITH JUDY: Avery’s Beverages Tour

The Newtown Senior Center is happy to announce a tour opportunity to Avery’s Beverages in New Britain. If you are interested to learn more about the behind the scenes of how soda was made 50 years ago, invent your own unique soda flavors, and tour the soda factory, this one is for you! You will measure syrup into each bottle, watch as the bottles are filled and capped, and hand shake each bottle. Wii Bowling Tournament

Indulge in some fun and games with Danbury’s Wii Bowling Tournament! Even if you have never used Wii before, give it a go and have some fun. Games will run every half hour starting at 10:00 am (with a break for lunch) and running through 3:00 pm. Times are subject to change depending on the number of participants.
