In between all the hustle and bustle that comes with the busy holiday season, it is important for each one of us to take a step back and reflect on ways we can give back to our community this December – and one of those ways is through volunteering.
Volunteering is a community effort for individuals of all ages and of all interests. It is a great way to connect with our communities, learn new skills, and even make new friends! Make sure to help spread joy this holiday season with one of our most precious gifts – our time.
Finding the right volunteer opportunity is made easy for you with United Way’s “Get Connected” tool which lets you search for volunteer opportunities in your area. There is an opportunity for everyone out there – from volunteering at food pantries, to visiting senior patients, or mentoring and tutoring students.
You can also find additional volunteer opportunities on our Activities & Work page, featuring the Foster Grandparent Program, for volunteers to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities, or Senior Companions where you can become an in-home volunteer for individuals with special needs.
There’s no time to waste – find that rewarding experience that will make a difference in your community! Your presence will undoubtedly be appreciated and you will help make this holiday season a little brighter for others.
